This is a puzzle platformer with a loop mechanic. As the main character, lüpi, you can create loops of yourself to help complete the puzzles.

There is a tutorial in this game but just in case you forget any of the controls, I have listed them below.

Controls:

  • Move: WASD
  • Low Jump/High Jump: Tap/Hold Space Bar
  • Pick Up/Drop: E
  • Start/Stop Recording: Enter
  • Activate/Deactivate Loop: Left Shift

I welcome  ANY criticism you may have about the game. Thanks so much for playing!

Also bugs:

While loops can pick up objects, if you make a loop while your previous loop is holding an object, the object will disappear. This can be fixed by resetting the level, it's just interesting.

If you spam space then enter then space then enter (repeat) you can essentially jump up forever. This however can break the loop mechanic, not allowing you to make a new loop.

A loop can pick you up. However, even if this is an intentional feature, you cannot pick up a loop so I recommend changing one or the other.

If you run against a movable door whilst recording a loop, the recording process will automatically end and you will not be able to make another loop without resetting.

Umm... On the last level by spamming all keys i managed to break everything and remove all walls and floor. I managed this a few times, and I think it's from activating a door while there is an object inside of it? (below). I think the door closing when it pushes the object into the wall it glitches out.

When you're carrying a box it can pass through stuff right? So if you drop a box while it's almost entirely in a wall, it stays there.

This is merely an exploitation of a feature, but you might want to get rid of it or use it in a future level: A loop can end a level if you make a loop heading towards a door, then click 'e' to pickup a key. (the key isn't there yet to avoid you completing the experiment). You then throw the key towards the door, and then activate the loop. The loop should run towards the door, then pickup the key and trigger the finish.

I think I've mentioned this but you can spam enter and space and jump in the air. I did some testing and found this is because you can jump on deactivated loops, the physics is just a bit weird.

This next one I am half guessing about, I don't really know how it happened: On the second last level, I was standing on the button holding a box. I started recording, using 'e' twice in quick succession. I then activated the loop whilst standing in the same location as it. I think the loop, myself, and the box caused cramming in the game and when the loop picked me up and dropped me in quick succession, my character appeared on an angle. The only thing it changes about gameplay is the position of items when you interact with them. The below image shows the position:

this is such an interesting game, wish there were more levels. Brilliant concept, good controls (though I keep pressing w instead of space force of habit), and overall smart gameplay.

Also sometimes I can't make a new loop, I can only activate/deactivate the current one.

wow thanks for playing this one! its one of my favs fasho… and ya there are def some bugs i kind of want to update this one

Just some bugs/annoying things i think would make the game better:
Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between you and the loop, so mby some slight texture/colour changes. Also you can see a deactivated loop's arm through boxes, which i think is because when you pick stuff up one arm goes in front, but it looks wrong on the reactive loop. Somehow when i am holding boxes, i can use the box I'm holding to partially push another into a wall? Also my loop ran over a box and trampled it into the ground. Hope to see more progress and levels on this! (Btw if you want someone to playtest levels I'd be happy to.)
